Two texts from Franz Kafka's letters: a poem from 1903 accompanies walking along Charles Bridge looking up at the sculptures on northward side, and an extract from a letter of 1916 the return walk looking at the oppositely placed sculptures. Two of the sculptures on the southward side are absent for restoration, replaced by their photographs on graffiti-daubed information panels.
In the video, the tempo of the walk with the poem is slightly faster than that with the prose, but with the picture cards physically in hand there is time to dwell on words, or on pictures, as one pleases, while sifting through them.
