Installation view, Obejvák Art Studio, Kolbenova, Prague, 21-22 July 2016
The images (here with rubbings set alongside photogram - in the installed version the sequence starts with complete overlap of tracing paper on print, gradually separating until finishing apart):
I found a hornbeam in Divoka Sarka whose leaves were riddled with holes, each leaf bearing its own message for the sycamore tree near to it, whose leaves instad of holes was marked with dark spots - insects acted as messengers for them across the meadow. I collected some of the fallen leaves and pressed them, before taking their negative imprint as photograms, and trying to read them with my fingers by taking pencil rubbings of them, the traces of which are displayed alongside. Thus did the leaves speak, and in the exhibition installation the dried leaves rustle in suspension on twine branches above their ghostly images.
